is a British photographer and avid sailor who is based wherever the ocean takes him.
Mike has worked on sailing yachts for the past six years, which has taken him around the world, to the ends of the earth, many times. These experiences have opened his eyes to unique and at times virtually undiscovered places.
During this time Mike has taught himself for the most part, about photography, especially over the last three years. He has developed a finely tuned eye for the natural environment and has diversified into other photographic disciplines.
Having always had a passion for exploring the natural world, along with his admiration of wildlife, he has sought to better the environment around him. Having been drawn to photography, he has seen this as a powerful opportunity to inspire people to take care and sustain this beautiful planet, whilst also encouraging people not to take it for granted.
Social media has been a major driver that has really brought to light his photographic ability to inspire people from many different backgrounds, from all walks of life. This drive’s his passion to share what he sees in life and subsequently through a lens, to anyone and everyone.
Having seen first-hand the way that mankind has had such a drastic impact on the natural environment, aesthetically and physically, even in the most far flung regions of the world, Mike is driven to show people how beautiful our oceans and life around it truly are. Mike is passionate about the preservation of these environments and shares his thoughts on why he thinks it is vital we do so.
Mike’s work has led him to be recognised as an emerging talent, having achieved the following commissions.
• ‘Supersail World’ magazine
• A sub-magazine off ‘Yachting World’
• Issue 37: Wrote an article on S/Y Athos and its global voyages. Personal photos of the yacht and destinations were used in the article and published.
